Devon Sproule: Intimate Listening Concert Series Monday Aug. 12th

By Ian Glomski on July 06 2019

Charlottesville’s beloved, Devon Sproule, will be playing in our Intimate Listening Concert Series on Monday,  August 12.

Devon plays North American music with weirdo roots.  Since 2007, her recordings have been released by British label Tin Angel Records.  Her last release, “The Gold String,” is a collection of songs recorded in her birth-country, Canada.   Sproule was raised on eco-villages near Kingston, Ontario and Louisa, Virginia. She has been married to producer Paul Curreri for 12 years and the two live with their daughter, Ray, in Charlottesville, VA.

“Sproule’s lyrics glance off each other arrestingly, juxtaposing images.” (Financial Times). “Her quirky affectations bring to mind Bjork, and forays into the dark, Michelle Shocked.” (Village Voice)

Tickets are $20 in advance/$25 at the door.  Ticket prices include a craft cocktail.  Non-drinker prices available.  Tickets do not include gratuities and are non-refundable.  Reserve in advance as tickets are limited!
